Privacy

By using our site, you consent to our web site privacy policy.

Safety and security is just as important to us as it is to you. We want to assure you that we make every effort to safeguard your privacy when you make donations through our giving system, Paypal. The information below spells out our privacy and security practices. If you have any questions about this statement, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The San Rafael Fire Foundation (the Foundation) helps to protect your information by providing a secure and safe environment for credit card donations. All information is stored in a secure database on Paypal.

Like most web site administrators, we use log files that record information such as Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and page navigation. We gather this information to track web site visitor movement in the aggregate, and to gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. Our goal in gathering this information is to learn how our donors and the public are using our service. IP addresses that are recorded by our log files are not linked to personally identifiable information.

This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that the Foundation is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this web site.

Privacy & Security for Donors and Volunteers

Donations to the San Rafael Fire Foundation are made to a nonprofit corporation that benefits the San Rafael Fire Department. The Foundation respects and protects the privacy of all donors and volunteers and will never sell, trade or rent your personal information to other individuals or companies. The information that you provide is used only to complete your donation.

When you donate to us, you may receive occasional email updates and a monthly e-newsletter. If you do not want to receive these e-mail updates or e-newsletters, please let us know and we will unsubscribe you.

Complying With the Legal System

Though the Foundation makes every effort to preserve donor and customer privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our organization. Otherwise, we will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

For children who visit our site, special rules apply. We do not request personal information about children, such as first and last name or street address and city. When kids send email to us, their online contact information (email address) is not used to re-contact them and is not maintained in retrievable form.

Changes to the Policy

The Foundation periodically reviews and updates this privacy policy. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to our web site so our donors are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
